limited to 100 copies hand-stamped 12 inch.return to disorder is the new label from hamburg producer and dj helena hauff, known for her dark brand of ebm and electro-infused music and without doubt one of the best selectors currently playing in clubs. the act responsible for the debut release from return to disorder is children of leir, a leicester-based psych rock outfit whose influences come from mystical horror. not the sort of music one would immediately associate with hauff s floor pummelling dj sets and a hint that return to disorder will be dictated by hauffs tastes as opposed to a need to satisfy the beat. the four tracks present here are a fine introduction to children of leir, with their feedback-laden sound perfectly enhanced by the mastering skills of pete sonic boom kember.

uk funk connoisseur duke slammer takes the driving seat on the 303-fueled ‘bangkok skytrain’, with remixes from moscow based simple symmetry and returning artist tony g. inspired by tropical heat, bangkok skytrain utilises 303s, analogue drum machines and mixes in field recordings taken from an excursion to thailand. the result is a heady concoction of warm basslines and humid atmospheres, with a groove reminiscent of early 90’s melodic techno and a cheeky drum track that wouldn’t be out of place on a larry heard record. simple symmetry, the lipski brothers from moscow, slowly rebuild layers of the track like a locomotive building up momentum, and in typical style simple symmetry style finding the perfect vocal sample and pan pipes that help propels you into the foreign lands. before you know it the track is pumping at full chug! tony g’s take goes a bit further afield than the original. a dub rhythm sets the picture in outer-space. hihats stutters like cosmic dust rickashading off the nosecone of the space ship while longing strings take us deep into a distant nebular before the 303 bring the thousands of new galaxies into view. definitely music to listen to in the dark! look out for the secret dancefloor weapon ‘just drums’, an industrial drum machine workout for the freaks!

last summer, ultra knites records kicked off a series of knite grooves eps. ukr006 sees label owners sem marini and mike sharon make a reappearance for summer 2015, this time under their ultra knites pseudonym for the third instalment of the knite grooves series. as has come to be expected from the pair- two tracks on the a side which ooze class and deepness, laced with melodic keyboard solos, elements that were once a staple in the deep house genre but have since bceome scarce during recent years. flipping over to the b side, the pair welcome fresh talent from across the water in the form of a collaboration between us producer trevor vichas and netherlands based tommy largo. theres two mixes here of gonna hold on both of which capture the essence of real underground house music and maintain the ethos of ultra knites records.

hot shot sounds expand their remit with the launch of peddlin trax, a new houseorientated series to keep you riding all day and into the night. first up is the legend of amsterdam s house and hip-hop scene, the master kid sublime, anyone that follows his work on the dopeness galore label will agree this is a fine choice. real hipsters don t dance tees off in a kenny dope does b-boy house kind of vibe, whilst -that ringtone shit- is on more of a dog in the night tip. down below, both get high and one for ibiza are pure house bliss, the sort of cuts you love to slip in the mix, whilst kid sublime heads off into buttery beatdown boogie territory on closing track s.e.x.x.x. met jouwww. a strong start to the series.
as well as being a resident at moscow s denis simachev bar, leonid lipelis has been slowly making a name for himself as a producer for some time. there s a whole raft of lipelis remixes for the nu-disco set dating back to 2006, but it feels like the russian producer has stepped up his game of late. inbetween some killer edits for lies and an upcoming public possession 12- as tmo, lipelis dons his beard in dust guise for the latest release from the mysterious bahnsteig 23 label. if you were a fan of that aforementioned lies release or any previous bah 12 its highly likely you will dig the four cuts here with lipelis drawing for some obscure sources with eminently danceable results.

the summer heat is still on our minds and we all do miss the sunny days, the beaches and the endless open air parties… thanks sascha dive for the right soundtrack and this summer flashback: dives new release for cocoon beams us back to the high days of the summer of 2015: especially into the woods seems to be the perfect sound for all these deeply missed summervibes. into the woods is a pristine tech-house production that comes with a cool straight forward beat programming, very nice reverse strings-sounds and hypnotic house chords. a nicely flavoured chicago club housefeeling and exactly how we like it! werewolf appears slightly more spaced out, however we are still deep in the house universe here. dive is pushing it a bit harder now - he uses crazy chord sounds and turns the track into an 11 minutetech house journey. after the summer flashback with into the woods this one beams us definitely more into the darker and hotter inner city clubs. a massive tech-house-striker by the diver and we are proud to say it is one of his strongest works so far!

the rise of azimute continues, after a their killer debut on crosstown rebels, an appearance on john digweeds live in toronto and much received hype with their new vinyl only label, azimute music. we are the sound ep is a full on journey into the unique sound of azimute. the first track on the ep is taken from the title, it features the vocals of rocky washington who has worked with the likes of snoop dog & jay z. the track has infectious percussion from the start and rolls effortlessly through, azimute s signature sound takes control as rocky s vocals complete the journey, a definite late night anthem for sure. next up is laterra, this true hypnotic and percussive piece is built for the main room and is certain to cause damage. on the flip side of the vinyl we have -under control-, its a stripped out eerie yet beautiful piece of techno which builds and builds, certainly one for berghains main room. finally we have the track entitled -way back-, another late night techno roller, with clever guitar stabs and a clean sound scape layer that draws you in as the record play

the first vinyl edition of the label moonrise hill material presents the differents artists work which will composed the label. funk to ambient, with proper jazzmen groove, where the house music predominate and appears like gold in every tracks with something which united them. the vinyl starts with « fucked up jazzmen », powerful track with jazz and hip hop influences from folamour, french producer which the last release on fauxpas musik is a love declaration to the sampling and to the 20s grooves until today. next listen with « jack my sista » from kaffe crème, french producer who takes the auditor in a perpetual modulation of the pads and bass under a syncopated rhythmic, between a real game and the tr-808. there is passion and percussions talent that comes to his classic formation in acadamy. the other side begins with « manhattune » from ethyène, soul anthem from 70s mixed to a proper chicago deep house rhythmic. after a empty period, the french producer annonces his next releases for the coming months, where samples and groove found a paramount place. the release ends on « cosmic spirals » from the lyonese okwa, who reveals his love to the electronic sounds for a half path ballade between dark walks and dance floors. after a great ep « preacher », in which he develops a returns to the 90s house music. focused on poetic house music, from the one that you can t stop dancing on to the one that you want to keep for yourself, the label defends the preciousness of every musical journey and the sensibility through beautiful stories.

i first heard of julixo when i put my hands on his fantastic ep called silas released on rauh 005. after that, i kept a close eye on the sounds he was posting, and when i heard rebho, i knew we were going to do something together. the warm synth line, together with the jackin drum patterns, were perfect. then came reflections, which fitted superbly with rebho. although slower, and maybe more introspective, you still have that warm feeling going through the track. we decided to go with life of crime on the other side of the record. much more aggressive in its construction, that track deserved a side on its own: modern techno at its best. i hope you will enjoy this nice versatile release as much as i do! best regards, philippe petit

high mobility weapons unit sets off from an unknown location on earth, making its maiden voyage beyond our solar system and towards a distant galaxy. the transverse velocity ep is the debut release on the self-titled imprint, serving up four original tracks that are heavily influenced by mechanical cycles and deep space concepts. the a-side kicks off with the eps title track transverse velocity, where an array of eroded satellite bleeps and waves loop together as the analogue low-end pulsates rhythmically below. in wave 102 the bleeps are detuned and erratically timed, with a glitchy tape delay unit modulating them throughout the track. the saturated 808 kick drum and processed percussion are given a functional structure, allowing the bleeps to take centre stage. on the b-side, both cycle 01 and astronomy tool serve as stripped-back percussive dj tools. cycle 01 rolls along with its hollow, muted polyrhythmic stab line, whilst astronomy tool drives forward with an effective, crystalline synth hit. mastered by black monolith studios.

mono junks label dum records is back! in 1994 an untitled 12” ep emerged from helsinki, finland. it was produced by an unknown duo called coopers and released by dum records. that particular squelchy sounding piece of wax helped to establish the sound that was later to be known as finnish minimal techno. alongside sähkö recordings, dum was one of the mainstays of gloomy northern electronics until its death in 2007. after an extremely long hiatus both dum records and coopers have now resurrected and instead of their trademark minimalism they offer now a 3-piece ep full of techno maximality! * indian acid* is a wonky excursion in repetition topped with roland corporations classical tr-727 congas, * ixam* takes you back to the soundscapes of 90s dreary finnish acid and * maximal fun* is a 12-minute trip to the electronic kraut techno madness of the coopers. play loud and preferably in dark. coopers are back with a vengeance!

this 12inch is pure trance. who is/are rita furstenhof? we have no idea who she/he/they are. the a1 track, the mighty -hadron collider- was sent to optimo music hq about 18 months ago. normally sending one track is not much use to a label, but this was so good that we instantly replied to say we wanted to release it. rita furstenhof works in mysterious ways, and it was 18 months until the other tracks for the ep arrived. along the way there were a few times when we thought they had completely vanished, and we were never going to have a complete ep, but finally, here it is.

>cissi moon changed my life! it was in a now refurbished part of stockholm in a futuristic cafe/club called holger that i had my first encounter with loudly played club music. the night was called db and we lined up with our fake ids every saturday to hear cissi moon spin drum & bass records and let the bass engulf our beings.< >at the time the art of making electronic music was totally alien to me, i could not for the life of me work out how to ever make music that carried the same emotional and physical impact as i felt on that dance floor. i have spent the last 17 years or so trying to get back to that state of being at one and completely lost with the music.< this record concludes a trilogy of eps by peder mannerfelt on his eponymously named label. what comes next is everything and beyond.

another day , first track of the ep, starts with some radical percussion based house that leads to a gliding deep base, underlined by vocals. in collaboration with gallya on she said , the duo takes it to the deeper level and combines spheric sounding percussion with gliding mallet notes which distinguish the track. afterhour straightness that involves all leftovers to move. last but not least, simone vitullo adds an arpeggiated techhouse-version of another day to the ep. a dark sub surrounded by minimalistic hats and strict but heavy beats bring down the sound of an great acidic house work. definitely an ep to play at dark and dusty hours.

it’s been just a few months ago, rampa carved his last ep-notch into the keinemusik-release-tally. but here he goes again, delivering his second km-offering this year, an almost prophetically headlining track called “newborn soul”. this tune virtually is the score to the current situation of its creator. a lurking, tension building piece that’s coping without a kickdrum for more than 50 % of it’s running time, just to place it in floor-shaking boost in the exact perfect moment. a percussion and synthflavoured build-up somewhere between tool-characteristics and stylish peaktime-emphasis, that’s rising like phoenix from the ashes. “mascha” on the flip can be appreciated as a classic rampa. analogue sounding, washed out intro, irresistible tribal-grooves including analogue filter and delay-rides, percussive cushioning and folkloristic chants that will invoke nothing else but rowdy floor-ecstasy in this context.

over two decades ago, roland leesker would play and produce with artists that are legends today. slaving away with ricardo villalobos in his living room, creating loops with john selway at new york s satellite basement, working as a light jockey for joe jam and marc spoon, cooking the heat together with cajmere and ata at the wild pitch club, or running various record shops around the globe. since then, he’s invested much of his time, knowledge, heart and soul into electronic music to further the scene and support the art. now, he’s returned to the studio with his production partner philipp maier also known as sante to bring you a new instant classic, ‘my warehouse’ in a way, you could say ‘my warehouse’ has been in the making for 25 years. in that time roland leesker has studied the music, gathering inspiration from the sounds, people and experiences along the way and putting them all together to create his perfect sound. ‘my warehouse’ is a bass-laden house killer, with intense kicks and a gritty, in-your-face bassline.

angels dust is vocalist flavia ciampi and producer david lampley, both originally hailing from san diego, ca. their bewitching, hypnotizing yet soulful debut summons the same heaviness and somber darkness of portishead & mazzy star. ciampi’s almost-whispered vocals are front and center, anchored by loose swinging beats that are as unnerving as they are catchy. lampley (also known as psychopop, one half of san diego instrumental noise legends skrapez, as well as a frequent gonjasufi collaborator) handles the gritty lo-fi production duties.

since 2010, jackie house aka jacob sperber has been driving the a&r side of the san francisco dance-music troupe running the hnytrx label and producing remixes with other members under the honey name. putting label duties on hold in 2013 sperber cocooned into his music studio, entering as a brave brunette and exiting as an ambitious blonde. * stydive * is jackie s debut to wax and has as much house-party in it as it does warehouse 4am. with a vocal sample nod to punk s past, * stydive* pogo dances to dusty and stuttering live/analog drum rhythms and skips along a rude and infectious bass-line. bound to find lovers of all persuasions for its dub-esque qualities, instantly recognizable hook, and open relationship with house music, this tune begged to have it s own side. that said, there is always room for some matrixxman who takes stydive to a strobe lit south of market darkroom in his remix on the b. spurting erotic lazers around a cavernous kick, this tune finishes off even the most experienced edger.
